Lance Armstrong’s “Retirement”

Call ol’ Johnny a dim-bulb-half-cocked-scotch-gulping-blog-jockey (it would’t be the first time) but Lance Armstrong’s serial retirements are about as genuine as Hillary’s “happy smile.”

Party politics aside, Armstrong is a genius. It seems that every year he announces his retirement and every year his opponents sigh in relief and head to the closest disco/brothel for some well-earned R&R.

Just when their hang-over wears off, sometime after April, they learn merde! Armstrong is back in the race and voila! and it’s too late to train.

UPDATE: So, Knuckles was wrong. Why d’ya think we took a hiatus?

That would be Scheiße, since Ulrich is German...
Seven wins is still an incredible feat, unmatched by anyone, French or otherwise.

looks like he's back, already. I think he fakes the retirement because he's tired of being tainted by the Postal Service endorsement and wanted to change sponsors...
